Is monitor input post EQ / Compression?
by blomasky on 2012-09-16 13:31:47.0250

If so, I, would really like the monitor input pre-compression.  (This way the singers wont keep trying to sing LOUDER to hear them selfs!)

The monitor sends are post processing. Since the most popular routing is compressor-> eq making the the monitor send pre compressor would also mean that you have no eq.

We are thinking about giving an option to use the routing eq-> compressor and pick up the send before the compressor. On the other hand, the classic way to solve this is to simply use a y- split and have two channels. One goes to the mains, the other one goes to the monitors. This way you have completely independent processing. Of course it costs you one channel but it is definately the way to go if you want to do very different processing.

The information above may not be current, and you should direct questions to the current forum or review the manual.
