  1. thanks - ill open it up and see what I can do. I assume after taking the panel off the pedal mechanism will be pretty self explanatory and i just lubricate all the parts? Lithium grease is something you can pick up in every run of the mill hardware store?
  2. Sorry, if not clear enough. I have tightened the bolt. Every time after tightening, when I engage and use it for a few seconds it works itself completely loose again. Does that sound like a lubricant issue?
  3. I started using a Helix Floor that I've had for a while this past weekend - using HX Edit, creating presets, etc....and using the Exp pedal for the first time. After about a minute of usage, it lost all tension and just flops to a toe down position. After some initial research, I realized there is an Allen wrench and bolt that can adjust tension (most posts I have seen seem to refer to a problem with the pedal being way too stiff, though mine is the opposite issue). After tightening the bolt as far as I can - which makes the pedal incredibly stiff - even after a few cycles through up and down the pedal goes from incredibly stiff to completely free floating, again, and goes back to flopping to a toe down position. It seems to me like there is something abnormal and I am going to need to get it repaired by an authorized repair place - but just wanted to see if I somehow missing something and/or if there is anything else I can do? thanks!
  4. I am trying to run midi using the Helix and a new JP-2c for the first time. Essentially, I am able to do what I want on various Presets/Snapshots via Instant Commands and Footswitches. The unpredictably comes when going to other Presets/Snapshots that I do not have sending any commands to the Mesa. Somehow, the state of the Mesa is still changing even when I have double-checked that the Helix is sending no MIDI commands. Anyone have ideas on how this can be?? I've even removed ALL MIDI commands from some of those other presets - and it STILL seems to be somehow changing things on the Mesa that are MIDI controllable... I can't figure it out!
  5. Thanks Phil - I realize its a trivial matter but if the Control had the built in expression, so that everything was just neat and tidy I would probably forego the floor (recognizing the main drawback of that point would be needing to go over to where the Rack was to do any heavy editing requiring the screen)... i like the idea of having the ‘brain’ up off the floor, so maybe i will just have to suck up a separate exp pedal...
  6. thanks a lot - in doing some reading it seems like that would be the way to go. another question, in general - im a little confused. what is the difference between a Send output vs the 1/4" out for the purposes of running into a physical amp's loop Return? Im starting to think i can run out of the Helix from either the 1/4" out or Send jack into an amp and no difference?
  7. im having trouble locating my answer in a search, but... can i connect a line out from an amp source into the helix rack (which input, i don't want to use a loop return for that right?) and then go out from the helix rack into loop returns of two different amps? essentially I'm looking for the helix to run post amp effects only and integrate into a wet/dry or faux-stereo setup i have...so, guitar into amp 1, into helix (modulation fx, etc), out of helix into amp 2 fx return...i prefer to take the line out from amp 1 rather than use loop. which input do i use for the line out from the amp in this situation?
