I'm running my Helix LT, using 4-cable method into a Marshall 2525H. Then I'm using a Mesa Boogie CabClone just as a load box, not using any of the CabClone outs in my signal chain. Because I'm doing silent recording, I'm monitoring using the helix headphone jack (not ideal, I know. But necessary, unfortunately). As far as the preset goes, it's as simple as it gets: an Overdrive block to push the amp, a FX Loop Block to and from the 2525H, a cab and some reverb. Nothing fancy. I'm finding some issues I wasn't expecting and I thought I might consult the hive mind: 1) I can get a signal even with the amp on Stand-by. Using the 5-watt or 20-watt modes make no difference in the sound I get. That is bugging me as I don't think this is expected behavior. 2) The Presence, Bass, Middle and Treble controls don't seem to do anything, as if they were bypassed. The Input Gain and the Master Volume work fine. I would expect this conection with the FX Loop Block and 4CM would allow me to use the amp's Tone Stack. Am I missing anything here? I’ve recently purchased a Variax 500. Some time later I found online a Variax Workbench USB Adapter to plug it into the computer. Bought it on the spot. However,, it’s not working. Here’s my set up: - Variax plugged with a stereo cable into the XPS power supply and 1/4 regular cable Into an amp - VDI cable from the Variax Into the Workbench - USB Cable from the Workbench USB Interface to the computer - Downloaded the most recent versions of Line 6 Monkey and Variax Workbench sofwares (NOT the HD version, as it doesn’t work with the 500) This is what’s happening: - Computer recognizes the Workbench USB Adapter and it displays On Line 6 Monkey And Variax Workbench - Variax Guitar is not recognized by neither Line 6 Monkey or Variax Workbench softwares - Both lights in the USB Adapter are green, suggesting that both the RJ45 and USB connections are functional Here’s what I already tried: - Tried 2 different VDI and USB cables - Downloaded older versions of both Line 6 Monkey and Variax Workbench - Restarted the computer multiple times - Tried unplugging the VDI and USB cable, then plugging them again multiple times - Checked and cleaned the RJ45 connectors on the guitar and the USB interface. The guitar connects to my Helix without issue, so I don’t think the RJ45 connector is broken. Nothing seems to work. Am I missing something? Thanks a lot, everyone!
