    helix routing

hi, do you think that it will be possible with helix to do a routing like this: guitar - signal split - helix pre effects - amp input (and then microphone to the pa mixer) second signal ----- delays and reverb --- helix amp simulation - L&R output to mixer so I can have a direct signal from my amp and a stereo signal for delays and reverbs ?? a sort of TRIAMPING?
  2. thank for the reply, very exhaustive answer!
  3. I want to connect a gr55 to the pod hd500. Please let me understand if i'm right: I can use the fx return left and right to the second channel of the hd500 signal flow, so i can have 2 independent stereo signals that can go into the mixer trough left and right output. so I can have channel 1: guitar with pingk pong delay --> l&r output of hd500 channel 2: synth sounds that enter the l&r input of fx loop and go out from l&r output of hd500 is it right?
  4. i'm using the sub octave fuzz for elevation intro, but sometimes the unit emits an additional note one octave higher, I noticed that with neck pickup or with hb pickups the issue is less evident, I know that the unit is monophonic, but there is some trick to do it better, like adding a compressor or a noise gate or whatever? thank you
  5. I've got an idea: (I thing Landau does something like that). guitar - input of hd500 send - orange ad30tc input suhr di box between power amp and speakers. mic on speaker -> 1 channel of mixer line out di box to return of hd500 some effect in stereo L&R out of hd500 into 2 channel of mixer panpotted properly. What do you thnk about it?
  6. the strange thing is that if I set the same effects on the m9, same parameters, everything sounds better and without noise!
  7. tthanl you very much for the answers. I'm not new to pd and amp simulators ( i had the pod 2.0, the zoom g9 and a digitech rp 500) and now this hd 500 blows away any other effect.... it needs a lot of tweaks but not as much as the others to find a good tone, but one thing is sooo true: I should make a patch with only ears, not with eyes and preconcepts... so next time if I like a sound with bass at 2% and presence at 98%... iìll use it without thiking about percentages! just a little disapointing thing... dsp limit... I know taht even eventide has dps limits... but with a so powerfull and polyedric tool... it's a pity to have limits!!! it could be wonderfull if line6 make a program that use a connected pc cpu to help the dsp....
  8. Hello. I own an m9 and a hd 500 . i wish to recreate some of the effect on the m9 (i'm using it since 2011) on the hd500, but i noticed that it tracks notes real bad with the synth o matic. i usually do a synth intro of a song using synthomatic, delay, phaser and octaver.. on the hd 500 i hear a lot o glitch and ghost notes... i noticed that it's better if I use the pitch shifter with an octave down setting than the bass octave... can it be a problem of DSP?
  9. Hello, I'ma anew hd500 user. I bought it mainly to use directly into a PA system, that actually is a couple of mackie srm450, ana a mackie mixer 1604 vlz3. I've got a couple of questions: 1 - I connect the pod to the mixer, with 2 xlr cables in 2 channel with identical settings. Why, if i set internal mixer L&R 100% panned or centered, the sound is different? I noticed that centered is louder and brighter. 2 - It is just mine impression, or basically the amps are "dark sounding"? I noticed that for having a bright and not muddy tone, I have to lower bassa a lot and raise highs and presence after 80%. this is mainly true for marshall type amps. 3 - i need an advice on setting tones at home: I notice that the best way to set up tones is recreating a "live" situation at home, with the PA about 10 meters far from my ears, and a volume quite high (fortunately my parents house is big enough, my apartment is like an Hobbit hole!). do you have any suggestion? like raise or lower bass, mids, highs? thank you
