Is there any way I can start and stop "portions" of a loop with the spider jam? I have the FBV express, which I dont think has such a function. Is there any other way to do this?

I got the spider jam about a month ago, it was used and came with the Line 6 FBV express and am having a blast with the amp. My question is, is it possible for my to start and stop "portions" of a loop I have created with the line 6 and the FBV express. I am assuming that it is not. If that is the case, is it possible? Would I need to get another pedal or added to the setup or use a different board? What I mean by starting and stopping is that I would like to be able to change between riffs or chord progressions while I am playing but keep a base loop going throughout. Thanks for the help
