I'm totally new to JTV's so hopefully this is just a stupid user error....
I'm trying to create an open G tuning - DGDGBG. But when I attempt to save the tuning in one of my Custom 2 slots, Workbench says that it has lost contact with the guitar and that I need to power cycle the guitar. I just click on the refresh button in the software and try to write the changes again and I get the following error:
An exception was caught.

Is this a flaky Windows 8.1 thing? When I installed the software I allowed it to install Java. The tunings were the main reason I bought this guitar.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
