  1. when readers visit the line 6 site for the software tab, that page says Line 6 recommends the Studio series and above. is this to say that the converters and/or latency is inferior to that of the studio series? i am trying desperately to make a DAW guitar rig, as SMALL as possible. the size if the Sonic Port sure fits in with my plan to be small. I have a smokin' laptop and will buy Pod Farm. so, all i need is a good SMALL input, with no latency issues. Sonic Port or GX? for me, even the GX is a little too big. is the Sound Port going to get me to my DAW well (where I will have good pre's and FX's waiting)? or, are there reasons why I may want to just get that smallest Studio series (the GX). please comment..
  2. thanks for all comments here. option fs5-8 seems perfect.
  3. ok, i have work arounds. i did browse the manual and google search it but, nothing came up.
  4. it is probably right in front of my eyes and yet i Googled to come up with nothing. help here, fast and easy? so, i used the Editor to customize my 8 of my best sounds. easy and love it. when i push fs-5 through fs-8, mt new hd500x does what i want (change fs-5 through fs-8). but when i do the same with fs-1 through fs-4, it is set to bypass effects, not change programs 1-4. someone kindly coach me on how to achieve 1-4 switching.
  5. most of you know the HD500x better than i. i just bought mine. for those of you that have really analyzed all the EQ's on the unit, please advise me: i am an acoustic-electric player that will turn off amp-modeling (completely) and just ad EQ 2nd, in my chain (before light compression). be my shortcut. which of the HD500x EQ's would be cleanest and best for acoustic guitar? what EQ will be good for acoustic with Dtar Multi-source mic/piezo combo pu? i also use a lot of delays. studio delay? Vintage EQ? hmmm.. help!
  6. is it possible to do a global bypass of all modeling that that as an acoustic player, i never run into a patch with distortion? i only play clean acoustic, with piezo so, no need for modeling or volume boosts
  7. greetings. for convenience & travel reasons, i recently sold off all my rack & pedal stuff and replaced with an hd500x. however, unlike a lot of other owners, i am only playing an acoustic through this floorboard. my pickup is a dual source (mic+piezo combo) but, i am still processing my tone (electric-style, with comp, modulations delays and rotaries (u2-edge, jeff buckley, acoustic jimmy page/david gilmour/lindsey buckingham style but on an acoustic). other players on forums have suggested to totally bypass the amp-modeling section and just use boosts, EQ and my chosen effects. on this forum, i wish to hear from other owners/players and receive their advice and comment for my purpose (processed acoustic-electric with effects). fed ex has not delivered my unit yet, so i am reaching out to get feedback before hand.
  8. greetings people. i just pulled the trigger to have an HD500x shipped to me. i am exclusively an acoustic-electric player. my guitar used a dual source pickup (mic+piezo). and, i process that sound using comp, EQ, modulation delays and other effects (sometimes sounding like U2/edge but on an acoustic. i'd like feed back from HD users on what they did to acheive impressive clean tones. i heard that i should disable the amp modeling and just use EQ and effects. comments?
