I understand the concept of "signal flow" but I'm not sure what is meant by "before model" and "after model" and "before amp" and "after amp"....How can something be "before" the model if it is also part of the model?.

I thought I saw on another model that if you boot up while holding down the "clean" button you can get the model without effects. Can this be done with the Spider IV 120?
