  1. No editor this time. Just tweaking amp knobs on this particular preset. Keeping it very simple. I finally got the pod to accept the save. I still don't know if switching back to preset mode was helpful, but it is useable, and did save after the third try. So I'm figuring the save function switch is wearing out.
  2. Thanks for your reply. Yes, I've been trying to save it, but it doesn't seem to be doing it. Maybe the save button is beginning to go out on me. I'll try multiple times again. I'm also switching back to preset mode and just leaving the amp disabled on my main preset, and will put a plexi preset next to it and see what happens.
  3. I'm playing in pedalboard mode on an hd500, but, I would like one preset, like one bank up ist preset for a jcm800(zz top patch) everytime I set the volume and switch away and back the volume is back to where it was before I set it. It's driving me nuts. Any help? Thanks ajr

    HD500 hum

When I plug my JTV-59 directly into my Fender twin amp with the modeling on it is very quiet. When I run it through my hd500 I get a fairly prominent hum. The output is set to combo front and the far right switch on top is set to amp. It's set to stomp on back. I use it in stomp box or pedal board mode I do use the effects loop for an external pedal and I've turned the loop send and return and mix down so the level is about the same as when it's off. What else can I do with the hd500 to get rid of the hum? I've searched on here to no avail. Using all different kinds of search criteria. I'm using the VDI cable, and running a guitar out of the 1/4" output into the front of the amp. I do also use an old flextone 3 xl and it's a bit quieter, but I'd really like to be able to use the twin amp. Anybody got any ideas? Is there a deep editing solution?
  5. OK, Solved at least part of the problem. My VDI is good. Tuner works. Model light comes on, so I figured finally that the cable is good. Checked and double checked the inputs and outputs and changed them(even though I strongly felt the were right) Nothing. WTF! Accidently hit one of the pods foot switches and suddenly had sound. What? I play with the pod in pedal board mode, and use an external effects pedal( a Fultone GT-500) so I have the effects loop as a foot switch. Discovered that if no cables are connected to the send and return if that switch is on everything cuts off. Seems wierd to me. Anyway, solved my problem from yesterday of no sound. Still don't know why I had a loud, very loud buzz on Friday night at set up for the gig. I can only guess it was the outlet I was plugged into at the club. But the bass player was plugged into the same one and had no buzz. I have no buzz here at home. Will play at gig level later to see if it returns. I might have to experiment with different grounding options. Anyway, a lot of you probably already knew about the effects loop thing and it would have helped if I would have thought to mention it was in the effects chain, but didn't know it made a difference. So, I get an ah ha moment.
  6. Silverhead, Thanks for the reply. I'm fairly sure the settings are right on the hd500. I didn't change them from when they worked two days earlier. I did just check them and they are the same as before. The tuner works with the VDI and the 1/4" jack in guitar in and aux. I get sound with the 1/4" cable in aux and guitar in but not with the VDI in the pod hd500,plugged into an amp. My question is wether or not the VDI cable is good or bad. Does the fact that the tuner works with the VDI mean the VDI is good?
  7. I had just used my rig on Wednesday and everything was fine. last night I set up and no sound with VDI cable hooked up but, the tuner on the pod hd500 still worked. Guitar/pod works with 1/4" jack. Can the VDI cable be bad, but still work with the tuner on the pod? I didn't change anything on the pod as far as input/output. I just don't want to spend the money on a new VDI if my cable is ok. Thanks for any help you can give. BTW: I use a JTV-59 and a JTV 69s and tried both guitars. Same result. I know the variax sounds a little better with 1/4" vs VDI, but I like powering the Variax with my pod hd500 live.
  8. I've searched the forum and can't find the answer to this so I'm asking for help here. I want to replace an alt tuning on the roller on my 69s with an open E, but workbench keeps saying it failed. The workbench screen shows that the guitar is connected, but I can't make it happen. Anybody have the answer?
