  1. After being on the KOT waiting list for two and a half years, my name finally made it to the top of the list a few weeks ago. After all that time, you would think I would have made my mind up what options I wanted. I know the Helix 2.8 FW is supposed to have a KOT model in it, but I don’t know what options it will provide and I think Imstill would like to get the real pedal since I’ve waited this long. Im pretty sure I want to go with the high gain option on the red side, not sure about the yellow side. I also think I want the toggle switch to be able to switch between boost/overdrive/distortion without opening the case on the red side. I think I want the 4 jack option which would allow me to enable/disable each side of the KOT via separate effects loops in the Helix and even stack other effects in between the two sides if I found a use case. Im not sure whether to give up the battery compartment for what I understand is a very good buffer. I would appreciate any and all InOut from Helix owners that have experience with the KOT with the Helix. My biggest questions are whether to go high gain on just the red side or both, and whether to go with the buffer instead of the battery compartment. I don’t know if the helix has built in buffers (as many analog pedals such as delays do) that would negate the need for the buffer in the KOT. Thanks, Ted
  2. I am using the Simple Pitch at the beginning of my signal chain to detune by one full step (-2). It is enabled for all snapshots in the preset and the mix is set to 100% and is not snapshot enabled. Most of them time I can switch between all snapshots without any issues. However, occasionally I will switch snapshots and all of a sudden my output signal (at least out XLR mono/left output) is completely out of tune and switching back to other snapshots doesn't resolve the issue. I have to switch to a completely different preset and then come back to clear the abnormal behavior. Has anyone else witnessed this type of behavior? I did see mention of odd behavior with some effects mentioned by Scott Minchk (The Helix Channel on YouTube) where when certain effects were enabled it would cause other effects to get disabled, but as I recall this was when switching a specific effect on via a stomp switch and was with earlier versions of firmware than the 2.71 which I am currently running. When this occurs I don't see any indication that the Simple Pitch block has been disabled or that any of its parameters have changed, most notable the interval or mix. I greatly appreciate any assistancea. Best Regards, Ted Allen
  3. Hello, I am running the latest available FW at the present time (2.71) and am experiencing an unexpected drastic (at least to me) change in overall output volume when increasing the Glitz reverb mix from 22% to 100% when switching from one snapshot to another with no other effects being enabled/bypassed amd no other parameters being changed on any effects. I am seeing about a 4dB increase in iverall output level when making this mix adjustment. Is this an issue anyone else has experienced? I know there were reported issues in early 2018 with differences in the Glitz stereo reverb left and right channels, but I didn’t see anything reported about an overall output level change for either the stereo or mono Glitz reverb. I know the new reverbs were made significantly wetter in FW 2.60 and Inhad to make substantial adjustments to accommodate, however, I don’t recall if the output level issue I’m seeing now was occurring prior to that. Thanks, Ted
  4. Thanks to all that replied. I was using the Simple Pitch effect in some other presets. I don't recall why I ended up with the Pitch Wham in some others. I have switched all of them to use the Simple Pitch effect and will continue testing all of the snapshots in each of those presets. Many Thanks, Ted
  5. Hello, I have a need to place an always on fixed interval pitch shift (e.g. tune down one step or one and a half steps) and would be active for all snapshots in the preset and not impacted by any builtin or externally attached expression pedals. If I disable/bypass the block, I would then expect the pitch shift to be ignored. I have successfully used the "Pitch Wham" effect for this in the past and was using it on several multi-snapshot presets last night and it seemed to work as expected until the second time rehearsing with one preset when I switched to a snapshot and my signal was completely out of tune.. I tried switching to other snapshots and they seemed to then be out of tune as well. Switching to another preset and back later seemed to resolve the issue. All of these presets had a volume pedal block enabled and assigned to the default expression pedal (EXP2) and using it was not impacting the tuning when doing volume swells. I don't have my Helix next to me at this time, but I don't know if I could have accidentally pushed the expression pedal too far forward to switch it over to EXP1 and then got things in a weird state or not. I don't recall having to switch back to EXP2 to get volume swells working again. Is there a more appropriate effect I should be using to obtain my goal? I do make use of a simple and dual pitch blocks further down the signal chain in some presets, but those are snapshot controlled and I haven't seen any conflicts in the past between the "detune" pitch block at the beginning of the signal chain and the other pitch shift blocks. Thanks in advance for your time and assistance. Best Regards, Ted
  6. Thanks Peter. I do have the pitch shift prior to the delay. I will try turning the headroom parameter at the maximum value when I get home and reply with results. Best Regards, Ted
  7. I am experiencing some annoying artifacts when playing single 1/8th notes on the D string using the subject effects with the following settings: Preset BPM: 78 Amp - A30 Fawn Nrm: Drive: 5.0 Bass: 3.4 Cut: 1.5 Treble: 5.0 Presence: 0.0 Ch Vol: 7.9 Master: 10.0 Sag: 4.0 Hum: 3.5 Ripple: 2.5 Bias: 6.0 Bias X: 5.5 Adriatic Delay: Time: 1/4 Feedback: 40% Noise: 4.1 BBD Size: 4096 Mix: 59% Level: +1.6dB Rate: 0.294Hz Depth: 1.2 Headroom: 0.0dB Trails: On Pitch - Dual Pitch: Interval 1: -12 Cents 1: 0.00 Delay 1: 0.0ms V1Level: 10.0 Interval 2: +12 Cents 2: 0.0 Delay 2: 0.0ms V2Level: 10.0 Mix: 40% Level: -0.6dB After playing several 1/8th notes on one fret and then moving up or down one or more frets, while playing the first 2-3 1/8th notes on the new fret, ugly artifacts are generated. I suspect it may be related to the delay repeats from the prior not interacting with the note(s) generated at the new fret location. This only occurs when both effects are on at the same time. I appreciate any assistance. Best Regards, Ted
  8. For physical amps that have multiple input channels (e.g. one clean, one high gain), do the Helix emulated versions provide independent settings for each channel and the ability to switch between "channels" within the same amp block via a footswitch and/or when switching between snapshots by assigning a controller for the channel switching function? Thanks, Ted
