  1. Thanks Silverhead !!! This community is excellent !!! Want to make sure I get the right stuff, I really appreciate the insight !!!
  2. I just got a UX8 and spent the day playing with the tones on Pod Farm. I am impressed far beyond what I thought I would be with the Pod Farm software. (I have the platinum version) So now I am thinking of switching out my stomp boxes for something like the M13 when I play live just to simplify things. My questions are: 1 Does the M13 have similar models as the Pod Farm software? Im really interested in the Plexi modeling, listening to it on Pod Farm makes me think it might sound good live with my tube head (a Peavey JSX) 2. Can you edit / create sounds on the PC then load them from the PC to the M13? If anyone is using a line 6 processor live and has advice I would certainly appreciate it.
  3. Solved (I think) , Yay !!! :) Well I don't know what exactly solved the issue, but here is what I did and it seems to have worked. 1. Updated Audio Driver (a new audio driver was released for my motherboard a couple weeks ago) 2. Switched to a different USB port (moved it from the back to the front) 3. Changed the AC plug location from the power strip my PC stuff was on to its own AC outlet Played 5 or Six songs back to back and no issues ! Man I love the tone I am getting for my punk stuff. Have the tube screamer running w the Plexi Amp and a 4x12 Cab. EQ and a Gate and it really does sound pretty close to the sound I was hoping for. Ill be browsing tones others have provided to download. I am SO impressed with this UX8 and its only my first full day playing with it!
  4. I am experiencing a little snag while playing around with my Toneport on Pod farm. I will be playing and the effects will just drop out. Not the entire signal, just loses the tone. When I go to open recent and select the same tone it comes back. It seems to happen at random. I dont have to restart the PC or software, just re-select the tone ( a custom tone I made) and it comes back. I dont know if anyone else has had this problem and knows a quick solution, just figured I would ask. Im going to try a better USB cable and a different USB port to see if that helps. This little snag doesn't bother me too much. I have multi effects I can use as I don't seem to have any problem at all when using it as just an interface. It records into my software fine without Pod farm running. The latency is unnoticeable ( love that) and it seems to be nice and quiet (no noise, static or pops), When using Reason 9 and Pod farm to record it works seamless and the tone is great, the effects just drop every now and then. I would like to see if I can solve this dropout problem so I can get more involved with using Pod Farm and Reason to record my guitars. I really like what I hear and look forward to tracking it. The tone I am getting from the software is honestly very impressive (coming from a new user), and it has inspired me to take a close look at Line 6 effects processors. Just FYI: I am using the Toneport UX8 and Pod farm 2.5 with all of the latest firmware and software drivers.
  5. OMG you are THE man !!!! You are right, the Toneport UX8 hardware was the dongle for the Pod Farm Software, it actually came with the Platinum Version !!! Followed your instructions and it installed all of the model packs packs when I installed Pod Farm. It even updated my firmware and now everything works great !!! Since I am below budget now, I think I am going to get the GX, UX1 or UX2 for my laptop take with me when I travel. Having the UX8 in my rack and working just made my holiday season !!!! What a great first experience from this community !!!!
  6. A friend of mine could not get his Toneport UX8 to work in his recording software (Audacity) so he let me have it for cheap. Of course he did not have the software or license info so I am looking at purchasing my own Pod Farm License. I tested the Pod Farm demo with my own recording software (I use Adobe Audition, Reason and Magix) and it seems to be working fine. My question is, would the standard version of Pod Farm work well with the UX8 or should I just bite the bullet and go for the Platinum version that it was bundled with? (( I prefer classic Marshall JCM/Plexi amp models with my Gibson LP )) One other question, does the GX and other interfaces come with a full version of Pod Farm 2.5 ? If so should I just buy one of those and get the extra interface seeing as the GX is $99 (the same price as the standard Pod Farm license)? Would it work in conjunction with my UX8? Any advice that would help me get started in the right direction would be greatly appreciated !
