  1. Does anyone have a schematic of the Line 6 Pod HD500 to confirm this?
  2. What about this DL4 mod for its switches? Is it possible to go this route, solder two wires on the switches in this video, and just place the switches onto the top of the unit?:
  3. Hello, I was wondering, is it possible to upgrade the switches on the Line 6 Pod HD500? I would prefer to use bypass switches like these: https://www.allelectronics.com/item/pb-237/3.p.d.t.-momentary-pushbutton-switch/1.html https://www.allelectronics.com/category/716200/switches-pushbutton/momentary/1.html I was wondering if anyone else on here has done a mod similar to this and has posted a guide on how to do this. Otherwise, my bottom row of switches barely works anymore even with contact cleaner, even tested the switches themselves by clicking them in without the back panel off. I know the simple switch could be replaced, but I'm more or less considering to mod the physical foot switch on the outside of the unit. I know you can pay some company to do it for $100, but I'd rather do it myself. Let me know.
  4. Hey guys, I need to apply some contact cleaner to the footswitches since the bottom row has become pretty unreliable. I unscrewed the back of the unit, and have access inside now. The issue at hand are the screws along the side of the footswitches. Would these be easily taken out with a socket wrench? I don't have one in my current tool kit, and am debating this one from Amazon, will these do the trick?: https://www.amazon.com/40-Pieces-EPAuto-Reversible-Ratchet/dp/B01LZEMYOD/ref=sr_1_3?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1534127456&sr=1-3&keywords=socket+wrench
  5. Hello everyone, So, I'm thinking about getting a battery powered setup, which will include a battery powered portable PA speaker (aka Behringer Europort MPA40). The problem is about the multi-fx pedals I currently use. I have the PODHD500, and the RC-50 Loop Station pedal. I understand that I might not be able to power the loop station (and this forum isn't the Boss forum) and the PODHD500. However, I was wondering, is it possible to power the PODHD500 with a USB Powerbank? I've looked into several cables that could "step up" the electrical current from a 5v powerbank to 9v (aka guitar pedals), but I"m not sure if this could power the PODHD500 effectively. Here are the options I've looked in, please let me know what you think, and if this is even possible. The reason I would like to do this is so I could easily busk wherever I want using effects from the PODHD500: Ripcord: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/48955335/ripcord-the-plug-n-play-anywhere-usb-power-cable More Info On Ripcord: https://newatlas.com/myvolts-ripcord/43484/ Birdcord: https://www.songbirdfx.com/products/birdcord/ Powerbank: https://www.amazon.com/Portable-RAVPower-10000mAh-Ultra-Compact-Charging/dp/B075ZR745R/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1527097583&sr=8-2&keywords=Battery+Pack+RAVPower+10000mAh+USB+External+Portable+Charger&dpID=41fic-PJjGL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch Behringer Europort MPA40: https://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/behringer-europort-mpa40bt-pro-portable-pa-system
  6. He probably has more skill than half of you. If you don't get the vocals, or where midwest emo type dudes are coming from, then I can't help you on that front. Back to my original point, is it possible to do this with my current equipment or no? I have an Alesis SR-18, the POD HD500, and the Boss RC-50 (just got it a few weeks ago). So far I've been able to send the MIDI message out from the Alesis SR-18 so that when I hit play on the drum machine, it starts the RC-50 looper pedal. However, it starts it up, and records over the current track. I'm wondering if I could possibly just make it send out tap tempo information, and sync it whenever I need it to.
  7. Hello everyone. So, my current goal with my Line6 PodHD500 is to create drum looping presets, akin to how the artist, Mylets, does looping. He uses two M9's that are synced to an Alesis SR-18. I currently own: Fender Jaguar Guitar, Novation Ultranova, Alesis SR-18, PODHD500, Digitech RP500 (with two broken knobs, but can still program presets via USB and still use the main switches) However, I have been using both manuals for both devices and am kinda stumped, since I'm ultimately trying to refer to the MIDI sections. So far, I have both devices, the PodHD500 and the SR-18 drum machine on midi channel 10. I have a MIDI cable connected from the MIDI OUT from the Alesis SR-18, which then goes to the MIDI IN of the PodHD500. The thing I would like to do is somehow take advantage of the Clock Out time data sent from the Alesis SR-18 drum machine, and send it to the PodHD500 to create loops that are synced and stopped in time. My current "Drum Looper" preset just has my drum machine hooked in through the FX Loop with 50% volume being fed into the PodHD500. The looper on the PodHD500 itself works, but that's just me playing on the drum pads and clicking it in time. I want to figure out how to get it to create loops on the fly on the drum machine, then transfer it to the PodHD500 with perfect sync. This is the current routing of my setup: Guitar, Synth, Alesis SR-18 Drum Machine --> PODHD500 (through guitar input, aux input, and FX loop) --> Digitech RP500 My current workaround: Disregarding all midi tempo sync stuff aside, I've thought to create a drum loop on the PODHD500, record it, and stop it. Then, engage the looper on the Digitech RP500 which listens in for any input signal. Then, kick the PODHD500 looper switch on, and have the DigitechRP500 record that drum loop, and stop the Digitech RP500 when the loop is done, so that the clean, unaffected drum loop is now captured. At that point, then just keep looping on the Digitech RP500, since the Line6 PODHD500 is not in sync with the drum machine, nor the Digitech RP500 Available buttons I don't use: Tap Tempo Button. I'm wondering if I can assign this to a related function between devices, possibly to start and end both loops. Any ideas on what to do? Here's a reference video of Mylets doing his thing (The only available related information I was able to gather from interviews is that he sends Clock Out data from the SR-18 to both M9's, I'm guessing those are somehow controlled as MIDI slaves with the Alesis SR-18 being the master device):
