JTV 59 won't connect to workbench HD

I think I may have found the answer. My setup is practically the same as DNHurwitz18, with a Mac Pro running Mavericks. Been scratching my head why Workbench wouldn't see the JTV, until I restarted (again!) and started Workbench as the first application. And voila, there is was. Tested and fiddled around a bit more and discovered that now that WB was seeing the guitar, Monkey couldn't! So apparently only ONE application can connect to the guitar at the same time. Closed WB and started Monkey and yes, it was visible there. Hope this helps anyone wondering about Workbench and the JTV.
