  1. Hey everyone, I wanted to try to setup the 4-cable-method with my Helix Floor and my Marshall amp. I got I working, but there is something weird going on with the volume, I think. Here is what I did: I set the 4-Cable-Method up to produce a decent volume (not too loud, not too quiet). Both the Channel Volume and the Master knob on my Marshall are barely turned up, though. Much lower than what I would normally do if I just plugged my guitar into the amp. Then I wanted to make a patch that would allow me to switch between the 4-Cable-Method (using my Marshall preamp) and a modelled amp from within the Helix. So I added an amp block and bypassed the FX loop block (bypassing my Marshall preamp), and BOOM, the volume coming out of the Amp nearly blew me accross the room. I'm lucky I'm not deaf now. I addad a gain block after the Helix amp and I had to set it to -50db to be the same volume than with the FX Loop active, MINUS 50db!!! Then I thought well maybe adding an entire amp from the Helix (preamp + poweramp) is way too loud, so I added just a preamp block from the Helix. This is a bit quieter, but I still have to reduce the gain by -30db to get the same level than with the FX Loop active. The end result is not good either since everytime I change the snapshots (S1 with the FX Loop, S2 with the Helix Amp and the gain reduction), there is a short super loud POP sound, probably because it takes a few milliseconds for the gain bock to activate. If anyone here familiar with the 4-Cable-Method can help me out, I'd appreciate it. I want to know if other people have similar experiences or if I screwed up my setup somehow. Thx for your help!
  2. I use my Helix both for guitars and vocals. While tuning my guitar, I want the guitar to be muted but the vocal path fully engaged with effects and everything, so I can talk to the audience while quickly tuning my guitar. Is there any way to achieve this?
  3. I try to be more detailed: 1. I connect the Helix via USB. 2. In the Helix settings Midi Through is set to OFF, midi via USB is set to ON. 3. I create a midi track in cubase. 4. In the Cubase midi track, I Set the Helix as "Midi Out" and my Audio interface as "Midi In" 5. The monitor in the midi track is off. With this setup I see the eradic behavior of my Helix. What should I change? When I have more time, I can provide pictures.
  4. Hey everyone, I connected my Helix to my computer and was able to make cubase and my Helix Floor interact with each other. I also can manually draw program changes in my midi track. However, what I would really like to do is to press record on my midi track in cubase and then klick the foot switches on my helix to then record the program changes at the correct time in my song, since this would make everything more convenient for me in the future. But something is really off when I try to do this. If I set my Helix as an Output device to send midi information to cubase, as soon as I hit ONE foot switch on my Helix, it completely freaks out. It starts randomely changing parameters, switching between snapshots and so on. After 5 seconds or so, it sends over 20 different midi commands to cubase and they are actually saved inside the midi track, but of course this defeats the purpose. The question is: why is this happening? It seems like the Helix is trapped in some kind of loop. Does anyone have experience using midi? I'm a complete noob and I'm happy I've gotten as far as I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
