I recently purchased the Catalyst 60, great amp! I’ve been using the Pod HD300 for a while and want to upgrade. A buddy is offering his HX effects unit, not the HX Stomp, for some cool tones but it appears from what I’ve read I cannot use that unit with an expression pedal without a power speaker of some sort, like using the Catalyst as a speaker only which would mean bringing the Catalyst to every gig or the church I play at if I went simply HX effects. I’m looking for convenience like the Pod HD300, but some newer tones that won’t break the bank. Is what I’ve read about the HX effects true and I need an amp?
