Hey everyone! Has anyone found a solution to the MIDI drop-out problem?
I've been having a similar issue and have just sent the following to Line 6 as a support ticket. Has anyone experienced the same or have any ideas/advice/input?
When controlling PC's and CC's using MIDI over USB, the Helix will randomly stop responding to the commands. I use Reaper to run a live session. The Helix has stopped responding to MIDI commands at different points throughout the set but other connected MIDI devices (connect via a USB hub) continue to work as they should. I have tried using different cables, using different USB ports and plugging in only the helix. I have also ensured that PC's & CC's are far enough apart to not overload/overwhelm the Helix. I am running the latest version of the Helix Firmware. I am concerned the either there is an issue with the Helix itself or it simply isn't good enough to deal with the requirement.
I previously ran a similar setup, but was running 2 Helix LT's. I never had this issue.
I am now using 1 Helix Rack, utilising 2 of the inputs for 2 instruments.
I wondered whether the Helix Rack would perform better using a MIDI Interface/Controller to send MIDI, rather than going via USB, but wouldn't have thought it would make much difference.
Please can you advise what else I can try or whether this is a firmware issue?
