Well I got it going after reading every thread I could. brand new cheap laptop shorter cord de oxit usb port in helix disabled core on comp isolation turned Off all sleep setting even then on the new computer 1 side of usb port didn’t work switched to other and finally caught. Was able to update firmware and use edit.

Hi all. A little background. I got a used helix with 3.60 firmware. I downloaded current version of HX edit on two different computers both a Mac and windows and I can’t get either to connect. It looks like the computer isn’t recognizing the usb connection. On windows I get this warning device descriptor request failed I’ve downloaded and uninstalled current and older versions with no luck. Both computer are about 10 years old. The Mac runs is 11 Big Sur and windows runs 10. I’ve done mutiple resets on the helix. The cable is brand new from staples…I can here a ping when I plug in on the computer and it shows an unrecognized device. any help would be great!
