  1. Hi Cristofe, I am very glad I found your post, although it was almost ten years ago that you posted it. Had exactly the same problem with the BassPODxt MIDI timeout, however, mine stopped responding at 0% all the time. Recently, I found another BassPODxt on eBay at a reasonable price, so I decided to buy that one as a replacement. When it arrived, I checked with Line 6 Monkey and found, that USB firmware and device firmware had to be updated. I started the update process on my Windows 10 PC, and when it told me to switch off and on again the BassPODxt, I did so. To my surprise, the PC reacted with a blue screen shutdown, something that did not happen during normal operation in the last two years. I started the PC again, opened Monkey and it told me, the USB firmware had been updated successfully. There was stll the device firmware to be updated, so I started the update process again. Like before, when asked to switch of and on again the BassPODxt, it killed the PC as before. After starting both, the PC and Monkey again, it reported all updates as done. I then installed an older Java 32bit-version (as described elswhere on this forum) and line 6 Edit. Upon startup, the device was found and connected and all internal tones of the BassPODxt were loaded. Success! The other BassPODxt (the one with the MIDI timeout error) did still not work, although all firmware was reported to be up to date. Thinking about your post I then re-installed USB and device firmware, this time telling the updater that I would NOT like to keep my modified tones, but to replace them by new originals. As before, after two BSOD shutdowns, I tried again -and voila, everything worked fine. That proves that your findings have been correct and reproducable. Shame on Line 6 for not providing this solution for Line 6 customers on their behalf, officially. Thanks to you!
