  1. Useful, thank you. There are couple of omissions I'd be interested in (Pod 2.0 and Flextone Duo)... the "Flextone 1" and "Flextone 2" schematics are actually Flextone HD and Flextone HD II.
  2. Monkey on my Windows 10 laptop has stopped connecting to the Line 6 servers, and both Monkey and Line 6 License Manager give me a connection error. Line 6 Centre identifies my Line 6 USB interface fine and says the firmware is up to date. It does not identify the Pod XT. @psarkissian, any ideas?
  3. Good tips, thank you. Yes, old Workbench works on my Windows 10 machine after some fiddling around (Java had to be installed manually). I picked up a Variax Standard and have briefly checked out the "virtual capo" feature (press and hold the Model knob 2.5 seconds, select the Alt Tuning knob position, play strings one at a time relative to fret 12=standard, press and hold Model knob to store). I'm not sure I've done the right thing as _some_ alt tunings sound rather artificial with a strange pulse noticeable on the lower strings that reminds me of some other pedal I've used, a hold or harmoniser or something. I've reloaded the firmware and loaded the standard bundle but it makes no difference.
  4. I've had a Variax 300 for a couple of months. I don't have a video to point you to for the earthing problem. I have been able to solve my primary model glitching problem with Servisol/Kontak Chemie Super 10 de-oxidising contact cleaner sprayed into any crack that I could find in the model selector switch body. I have been able to solve the secondary problem of model and pickup glitching when powered via TRS cable by cleaning the 1/4" jack socket with a cotton bud soaked in Super 10; the previous owner always used the VDI cable and the 1/4" socket got cruddy. I bought a replacement model switch from a company in Spain but I haven't used it.
  5. I use a standard wireless guitar system dongle into the 1/4" jack of the guitar, using the guitar on battery power or plugging the wireless dongle into a mini-XPS substitute that provides power to the guitar over a TRS cable. Then I can plug the wireless receiver into my pedalboard or my stereo.
  6. Solved: I've been told on another forum that on the Variax Standard all models are affected by the alt tunings knob, including sitar.
  7. I recently acquired a Variax 300 and one disappointment is that the Sitar model does not allow alternate tunings. As our singer prefers to sing "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" in F, it would have been good to able to do this, since the sympathetic strings don't resonate on F. Can anyone tell me; does the Standard range allow the Sitar model to use alternate tunings? (Fallback is that I capo to F# and use a Digitech Drop to drop a semitone to F, or carry on using the Roland GK3/GR55 setup that doesn't sound as good).
  8. I have used a similar power module in my XPS Mini replacement, but bear in mind that the Line 6 XPS contains circuitry that prevents the 7 volt power being applied until it detects that the tip of the plug is in position; I'd second your recommendation never to power on until the TRS cable is in place at both ends.
