I currently have an HX Stomp and Ego Compressor, along with a Boss SD1. I've considered setting them up on a board and making it my new rig (instead of my current fm9 set up). The small size for transport is very attractive to me. I'll need a board, as well as power for the pedals, and a DI solution. Those together will run me right at $600 (Canvas DI; Ciocks DC7; Pedal train Metro 16). A used Helix floor can be hard around $1,100. The floor is heavy, so there's that. Portability is nice for carrying around to get in the church or other gigs. Any suggestions here?

For some reason, I keep jumping ship to try other things, but then i start to miss Helix and I can't figure out why. I'm currently using a Fractal FM9 Turbo, grabbed it when my name came up on the wait list. It sounds incredible, and i've learned how to program it. But for some reason, I start looking at Helix again. I think it's partially the community around the Helix, and also that I begin to see I can use the Helix and save money over the Turbo, all while still getting great sounds. Maybe I have commitment issues..lol Either way, here I am Helix shopping again..lol

I currently use an Fm3, and it sounds awesome. However, i've always been interested in Helix. I'm looking for inspiration. I have an HX Stomp currently and i'm considering building a board around it. Can anyone share what pulled you to Helix or an HX stomp board?

I just got my Helix LT. I did the update to 2.91 and restored my patches (previously had a Helix LT). I'm having a few issues. The first is that I can no longer seem to get a clean sound. The speaker (both a headrush 8" and a set of studio monitors) sound like they are broken, have a crackle sound of sorts, always breaking up. The Phones port is also funny. There is a delay in the sound, from strum to hearing it in the headphones. The phones also sound like they are in a hole (best I could describe it). The previous unit i had sounded great. I used it in church for 2 months before selling it (long story), so i'm baffled as to what's going on with this one. The only thing I can figure is the 2.91 upgrade. Any thoughts? I'm also waiting to hear back from the store I purchased from (via ebay). This is a brand new unit.
