Firehawk and amp(s) for electric vs acoustic patches

Hi everyone...

Just got my Firehawk and so far I love what I hear. Everything especially sounds good over headphones. A buddy of mine lent me a Line 6 Flextone XL II 212 to play around with it.

I set the Effects to "By Pass" and the amp to "Jazz Clean" thinking that the less coloring the better, since all the effects I'd ever need are supposed to come straight from the Firehawk.

It all sounds pretty good, except for the hiss I hear when I'm NOT playing. (Oddly enough, once I start playing the hiss goes away - perhaps an artifact of how the sounds are generated and transmitted from the Firehawk?)

Once I get to the acoustic sounds, it's clear the Line 6 amp is fighting me and trying to add something to the sound because it just doesn't sound right.

I'm told it's best to get an amp for an acoustic guitar for the acoustic sounds or just get the Line 6 Stage Source (for example) to just have a clean sound with no additives/artifacts from the amp.

At the moment I can't afford to get the Stage Source, so I'd like to ask first of all:

1) Any tips/ideas on how to get a really quiet channel on the Flextone XL II 212?

2) If not possible, how do I hook up two amps from the Firehawk and direct acoustic tones to one amp and electric tones to another? (or do I need to get an A/B switch?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Thanks!
