3 computers and 5 USB cables later I get the Problemost as a lot of other users. Is anyone else also experiencing the HD disconnecting from usb and restarting. Ive done a global reset a number of times and seems to sort itself out until i start esiting again. spoke to L6 Germany and they didn't have a clue spoke to the Repair team in Manchester UK and what I got was of the problem is your units knackered needs a new board and you've more chance of buying a new unit then you have board and the costs over £200 for the repair. Come on line 6 get your act together we've paid good money for these machines yes Helix is newer and better but some of us can't afford to upgrade.. sort the gremlins out

Just bought the HD500x today, connected to my mac and Edit worked great until I physically turned a knob on the unit itself instead of using the software. As soon as I did that the unit said sync then the dreaded error 8000000a popped up! WTF Line 6? Now I find out that there isn't a fix yet. If I find a fix I'll post it, but right now I got nothin'.

I don't think there will be a fix mate there's so many other users with the same problem. It's just a case of global reset and start again.it's certain presets so I'm going to painstakingly have to go through everyone.. I'll keep you updated

I think it's time I went to trading standards as these units aren't fit for purpose. I've tried to update firmware softwares crashed saying it's not connected and the units stuck on screen update firmware. I know people are saying these aren't an expensive unit but end of the day these were made as a pro rig before Helix.. I'm hazard ingredients a guess my rigs now lollipoped.. thank you line 6 merry xmas

Sorry to hear you're having problems too. I got mine to work!

I ended up installing the software onto my windows 10 PC. My problems were using the line 6 software on my MacBook.

I installed windows 10 onto my MacBook using bootcamp. Then I installed line 6 Pod HD500x drivers. Followed screen instructions, Then installed Monkey, followed screen instructions, then rebooted MacBook and HD500x. Once rebooted I opened Monkey, logged in and then went to license manager tab, logged into licenses manager, authorized my MacBook, then closed it out. Next, I installed Edit software, followed onscreen instructions but did not open edit program. I rebooted MacBook and HD500x, then opened Monkey, then edit software.

Now everything works! HOWEVER, when the Edit software is open I DO NOT touch knobs 1-4 on the HD500x, all my edits are done in software. Once edit software is closed it's ok to use knobs again. What I've noticed is that when you turn a knob while the edit software is open, the "sync" process is causing the communication USB errors. This is where Line 6 needs to work on a patch.

Hope this helps!
