ultrazone69
Hi everyone. I recently bought a used unit. I mostly bought it to use as a pedal board and to shoot preamps in the effect return of some tube amps I have effectively creating more channels on the amps. At first I tried with my Traynor ycv 50 combo and it was dead quiet and plugging in 4CM yielded a beautiful and colourful array of sounds. When I plugged into my 5150 combo amp though it soon spat out a considerable hum/noise that I could not put my finger on. I used different cables and it did the same thing. the only way I can make the noise disappear is if I use either right 1/4 jack output or any sends and returns from 1 to 4. Also another thing I noticed is that when I pass my hand over the screen the noise seems to be reduced. Has anybody else encountered this issue? How was it resolved? I by no mean want to sell the helix. I just want to confirm that the amp is the issue and not the Helix. As stated above, if I use another amplifier it doesn't do this. Would a ebtech or ART isolator solve the problem? Thank you Ali S.
