ericmb
hi all, I had an idea of using the Helix HX in 7 cable method and then hook up each amp head with two cabs. See the diagram below/attached. The idea is to only run 1 amp at the time but NOT having to shift any cables around when switching amp. Just flick running amp off, turn the other one on. Will this work? Thanks, Eric
UMRJmac
I wouldn't. An amp expects a resistive load (speakers)...applying voltage/current from another amp would probably let the magic smoke out of one or both of the heads. They make amplifier switchers for this sort of thing.
ericmb
hi there, Thanks for the reply! I did specify: The idea is to only run 1 amp at the time Does your answer still apply? not sure. Could be. I did something similar today where I powered on 1 amp. on connected to helix via 7CM but only goint to 1 cab. I havent bought the second cab yet: I d like to go stereo. So far so good ;-) Eric
