mencia86md
Hey guys! First time poster here. I bet this question has been asked a million of times before, but I just want to obtain some feedback from more experienced users. I’m getting my HX stomp this week. I’ve decided to build a rig based around it (I’m 98.5% of time a bedroom player living in a small apartment so a tube amp is overkill for me). I want to free up some space in the hx stomp and purchase some pedals to go with it. Basically I’m thinking of using 2 or 3 external OD/Dist pedals and maybe an additional reverb or delay. I’m mostly a hard rock and metal player (from old school 70-80’s hard rock/shred to Pantera/Lamb of God type metal, my modern djent and tech death skills are deplorable) and I’m not really into ambient guitar so those mega fancy $400-500 dollar time based effect pedals are very confusing to use for me. I’ve got my eyes on the Strymon Riverside or Sunset, Wampler Tumnus Deluxe, Suhr Riot and Fulltone OCD. I already have a wah and an expression pedal to use with it too. So do you have any experience with pairing up these pedals with the HX stomp, or have any experiences with some good time based pedals. Where I live I don’t have access to trying out this gear so I have to rely on videos and comments. I appreciate your help and apologize for the long post. jordanlaughlin
Hi I'm in a similar boat but play in a rock covers band. Im looking to add the riverside to my HX stomp and I have the Tumnus deluxe which is fantastic as a lead solo boost. Let me know if you went ahead with this and if the riverside worked out for you. I'd be looking to put my riverside in the FX loop of the stomp and have the hx stomp do most of the rest. Ie hx wah, hx phase, loop with riverside Tumnus and flashback delay, hx reverb and amp into a dual 4x12 hx cab on both sides with slightly different sound's for a stereo feel.
