Tone Compatibility
Choose between "Only" or "Compatible" and then choose the Line 6 device that you are using here to
determine what types of Tones will be shown in the Library below. The "Only" setting will result in
the Library showing Tones that were created by the same device as you have selected here. The
"Compatible" setting will result in the Library showing all Tones that can be opened on the Line 6
device you have selected here — note that some Tones may be translated when loaded on your selected
device.
Get Tone
After installing and configuring Line 6 Edit software, click the GET TONE button to load a Tone
directly into Line 6 Edit and your connected Line 6 hardware.
It’s best to use the "Integrated" browser within Line 6 Edit, which you launch by clicking the
Online Library button. You can alternatively visit the Custom Tone site at www.customtone.com in
your Windows or Mac Internet browser software. When accessing the Online Library in the Mac Safari
browser, the GET TONE button is limited to only downloading the tone to your Downloads folder.
Line 6 Crafted Tones and Public Tone Exchange
Select the Line 6 Crafted Tones for a huge collection of professionally tweaked Tones matched to top
guitarists, songs and bands. Originally made for GuitarPort, these Tones can also be used by PODxt,
Vetta II and other Line 6 devices. Select the Public Tone Exchange for thousands of Tones submitted by
customers. You can add to the Exchange by clicking the Submit Tones link on the top left of the web
page or the Submit This Tone to Online Library button within Line 6 Edit's Editor window (Windows or
Mac).
Sort
Click a column label (Style, Tone, Guitarist, etc.) to sort the displayed Tones. Choose
"Date" to see the newest Tones on top.
Pickup
For guitar Tones only, this tells you whether this Tone is intended for Single Coil or
Humbucker pickups.
Tone Detail Alert
Various icons are shown to the left of the pickup type icon when a Tone has special features.
Click the icon for details.
