Line 6 Monkey and Line 6 License Manager retiring on April 10th, 2026

Line6Tony

On April 10th, 2026, the server which supports online Monkey updates and License Manager transactions will no longer be available. The Line 6 Monkey codebase is very old and no longer works with the latest Operating System SDKs. License Manager has been replaced by Line 6 Central.

This affects users in two ways:

1. If you own any of the devices that are not supported by Line 6 Central, you must complete any firmware installations prior to April 10th, 2026.

2. If you own any model pack licenses, you must transfer them to your devices prior to April 10th, 2026. After that, model packs are either effectively locked to the devices they are installed on, or they cannot be installed or transferred to other devices.

POD Farm licenses can still be authorized to a computer with Line 6 Central 1.04 or newer.

Users will still be able to download firmware from www.Line6.com/software at no cost and use Line 6 Monkey to update devices off-line. However, we cannot guarantee that this process will work on all systems and cannot provide support for unsuccessful attempts. See this article for details: https://line6.com/support/page/kb/general-faq/making-line-6-monkey-work-r1083/

For firmware installations, Monkey would have to be used on a computer running an older supported OS, or on a computer running multiple OS installations that include an older supported OS. This article supplies details on running discontinued software: https://line6.com/support/page/kb/general-faq/how-to-run-discontinued-software-r814/.
