  1. So I brought my brand new G70 to a show tonight but couldn't use it because of a note, approximately a 1k whistle, that it generated. I thought it might be caused by my standard 9v powerspot so I swapped in the usb power supply that came with the unit. The problem was there with both power supplies. On a whim, I hit the ground fault button and the noise went away until I plugged in the xlr to the mixer and unmuted it. Now the amp was quiet but the pa was whistling. When I hit the ground switch it made the amp whistle and the pa went quiet. The problem was consistent, one or the other whistled. To the best of my knowledge, I did not have the xlr plugged in when it first whistled through my amp so I don't think it was a problem between the pa and the receiver. I put up my old X2 (yes, before line 6 bought them) and my Countryman Type 85 with no problem. Is this a bad unit? Do I need a firmware update? What else should I test? Or just return it to Sweetwater and figure something else out?
