Hey all. I am new to this forum but thought someone could help.
I had the POD HD and was using it as a modeler in front of a Marshall 9200.
I ended up not being that pleased with the outcome. So I sold it.
But now I feel like I should have kept it.
Here's what I am trying to do.
I LOVED the Vetta II and still think it is underrated.
I almost always used it in stereo with 2 models panned 100% left and right into 2 separate 4x12 cabs
It sounded epic.
But it lacked a little umph that you get with a cracked tube amp. Such as my Marshall JMP1 or my Uberschall
SO:
I am trying to create the same (or close as I can get) signal paths as the Vetta but with tube preamps into my stereo 9200 power amp out to 2 separate cabs.
So here is what I got so far:
Guitar into POD X3 (all amp models off, FX only)
one out (left) into Marshall JMP1
the other out (right) into a Randall RM4 with various modded modules
Then each out to their respective sides of the 9200
and out to 2 marshall cabs
So far it kinda works. Sounds crushing at least. I don't mind all the effects being in front of amps. In fact thats how most of my presets were on the old Vetta.
But I am limited on how I can route the effects. its either one side or the other. Were as the Vetta I could move things around from the left to right, before the stereo split, after it etc. AND control the various fx with the FBV longboard. AND turn amps on or off. Feels like I can't do that with the X3.
So is what I want to do possible with the POD HD?
Or am I close enough with the X3
Or am I insane and should just stick with the Vetta since it has the best layout and routing of any thing I have ever played.
