I purchased a POD HD500 almost one year ago and never used it due to work and gigging schedules. The only thing I did was power it up, connect it to a PA to make sure it worked...cycled through a few canned patches. Almost a year later, I have a bit of time and want to use this unit at my gigs.....no amp if possible...just FOH and monitors.
Well I have noticed there have been some firmware releases and edit software updates. Here are my questions:
Do I have to make every update or can I just get the latest updates?
Are there any good instructionals or videos for the POD HD500 to get me going quickly? I find the stock pacthes unusable.
I have been gigging for 41 years, I am not a beginner. Is it easier to use the PC interface to make your patches and edit rather than using the knobs on the POD HD500?
I am only after a couple of tones.....I play southern rock and blues. I use Fender and Dr Z amps. I need a clean and overdriven sound as well as a great lead tone....some reverb, at times some delay and chorus. That is it but I want it to sound like my real amp.
Websites, forums.....please point me in the right direction. I fear I am way behind in technology.....................
