THIS! I had the same problem and the person above has the answer but it seems like a lot of you haven't read it the fix. You need to eject all the HX Edit installers that you have in here. On the left of your Mac Finder where you see the below, REMOVE ANY THAT HAVE 2.92 IN IT. Remove your HX edit software as well and run the 3.00 file again.
