  1. You'll probably find going SPDIF to your Scarlett the best. Never been too impressed with the USB function of modelers personally, a dedicated interface usually does a better job of getting it on your hard drive.
  2. Thanks, I've written to technical support hopefully they'll give the answer I need.
  3. Line 6, if you could give me a reply I'd appreciate it.
  4. I didn't really like the plug in, but I don't like any plugins when it comes to distortion. A discussion for another thread. I tried the Helix in a shop recently and was impressed by the Marshalls, which I thought really bad on the POD HD. The Plexi on the Helix and the JTM 45 are quite good. However, at that price range the AX8 is also a worthy contender. The LT has all the features I need apart from SPDIF. One is for sale used for a good price, its a month old. If someone who is more technically minded about SPDIF than I could chime in, am I going to get the same features as POD HD when recording SPDIF with the Helix LT? What is lost by the option of converting to SPDIF, as opposed to a dedicated SPDIF?
  5. So I'm considering moving up from my POD HD to a Helix LT. But I'm noticing the LT doesn't have SPDIF connectivity. I've read that the Digital out of the LT can be used as SPDIF. So how does this work? Are you able to go into the Helix LT the same way you go into the POD HD, and adjust the SPDIF output and sample rates, the same way as with the POD HD? Having the same control and options over SPDIF with the Helix LT as with the POD HD is important for me. I'd be connecting to an RME Fireface UC.
  6. So my POD HD is an excellent practice tool. I also have a lot of success recording cleans and low gain tones. My woes set in when I try to record hi gain. No matter how much post EQ I use or not, its just not sounding too great. Before I make a hefty investment into a Helix or Kemper, thought I'd ask the community if there is anything I could do with the POD to get a good Hi Gain recorded tone. I'm connecting the POD HD Bean to an RME Fireface UC via SPDIF. Using Reaper at 24-88.2. Cheers.
