Midi Notes
in Helix
I noticed something odd as was setting up some Ableton triggers this weekend. In order to trigger note D1, I had to set the Helix MIDI note to D2. Is this intentional? It just seemed unusual to myself.

You can always add a gain block after the preamp block if you need more volume. Those little things are nice problem solvers.
Is there any coloration to the gain blocks or is it an even boost?

There are different startup sequences for the Rack than for the floorboard:
Thanks!! I'm not sure how I've missed that watching the forums like a hawk till I got my Helix. Now, I just setup and play!

Firmware update resets:
1. Turn off Helix.
2. While holding footswitches 9 and 10 (middle two switches on the bottom row), turn on Helix.
3. Wait for the message “Will reset Globals and restore stock Presets, Setlists and IRs…†to appear and let go.
While doing this reset on the Rack/Control, the reset message never shows.
I follow the above instructions. Is this a bug on the rack or am I just doing something wrong?

Modeling a light bulb is so yesterday... Can you model a flame?

any new updates on this? the excitement is overwhelming hahahahaha
Full Compass showed a Rack and Control "in stock" on their website yesterday, but not anymore.
And Westlake Pro has a Control listed on eBay.
I can hardly put up with myself at the moment. Maybe when mine ships I'll calm down a bit.

I don't think there is any new official info about ship dates in either of those threads.
One of the last post (on the Helix Rack thread) by Frank says they're looking to good to be shipped into distribution the first week of February.
Not official, but we probably won't get anything official until they actually ship.

Also some info here. Look towards the end of the thread.

Is it possible to combine Helix with another audio interface (in my situation, a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40) to create an aggregate audio device in OS X?
I know there have been issues with some people having issues between Helix (via USB) and OS X. And I know that testing my setup, as well as all the other possibilities, is not something that any company is going to dive in to.
I'm just curious if:
1. Is it possible?
2. Has anybody tried this.

It's authentic. There is indeed a 1.05 for Helix hiding in our walls, but there's no point in releasing it, as the only thing that changed from 1.04.3 is a code merge with Helix Rack. 1.06 and beyond will support both Helix and Helix Rack/Control.
Brand new Helix Racks/Controls will ship with 1.05, but 1.06 will be out before anyone gets their mitts on one.
All I seemed to be able to read was "Brand new Helix Racks/Controls will ship"
The rest was just some blurry vision and trying to form 1.05 and 1.06 into a date that would somehow make sense.

Not trying to stir this topic up again, but I don't see where it was actually stated that this type of cable would be beneficial or not for use with Helix.

Thanks for the info. Can't wait to get mine!

I'm not sure if this has been answered or not, but I have a question about the looper and using an external midi controller. If I were to use an external controller to trigger the looper functions with midi commands, will the Helix (control section) go into looper mode or will it remain in preset/footswitch mode?

With the rack format, is there some sort of display on the floor controller for the tuner?

It is very lightweight so it will fit just fine in a rack screwed in with the holes in the front. The handles, however, protrude (as they often do) so SOME racks are problematic if you need to close them (I can't close my rack, am thinking about removing the handles or buying a new rack).
How far do the front handles protrude??

I understand different devices operate differently when comes to midi (my Saffire Pro 40 that I use at home and the Saffire Pro 14 that I use at church don't seem to operate the same). However, I haven't really experienced notes being an octave off without me using a specific devices transpose function.
I haven't seen that in terms of a global function in the software.
