I was looking for the same thing and bought the Taotronics Bluethooth transmitter and the CB3 Bluethooth headphones and this setup did NOT work for me. Despite the Toatronics marketing that that transmitter was "Low Latency", the sound reaching my ears was delayed by about half a second making it a difficult and unsatisfying playing experience. Strangely, there doesn't seem to be a delay when I hook the transmitter up to my TV and use the same headphones (the sound is in sync with the image on screen). Not sure why there's a delay with the Firehawk and not with the TV.
Did you try out the adapter / headphone combo you mentioned in your post?
