  1. Thank you for the clarification. I have the original shortboard for my Spider III but have a MkII on order, so I'll be looking into the editing functions for sure. I did some work on it last night and got closer. We have reahearsal tonight and I'm going to A/B the III and IV side by side and tweak things on the fly so I can hopefully take the IV with me tomorrow. The octave/harmonizer really interests me since we do some middle-eastern style tunes and that octave effect on the single notes lines (ala U. Shrinivas style slides) sound fantastc!
  2. I have the FBV shortboard. The deep editing tools/software only works with the the Spider IV though, right? Seems I should just be able manually get the sounds in. I guess my questions is, for basic functions are the III and IV sounds combatible or 1 to 1? Am I'm off base thinking I can at least dial in the Spider III sounds by hand (using the same setting) to get what I have today on the III over to the IV? I too have 38 years into this profession and love the LIne 6 gear. I have Pod2.0's, Spider II and III's in 30w, 75w and 120w. I'm heading on tour this Friday (MI, IL, MO, AR, and TX) and was hoping to bring the IV but at this point I'm taking my diehard III 75w with me, and a POD2.0 incase I run into amp troubles and have to make through a night before getting a replacement.
  3. I'm a long time Spider III user who has 6-8 sounds I've created myself that I live and die with during many different stylistic gig...rock, jazz, big band, circus, klezmer, country...you name it and one of these sounds does the job. I've been wanting to move to a Spider IV for a while but felt stuck with the III because of the sounds I rely on. Just this week I bought a used IV to see if I could recreate the III's sounds by setting the knobs the same as they are on the III. This doesn't seem to be the case. I love the idea of having my great sounds with the added looper and harmonizing/octave options that the IV gives me. Does anyone know the best way to duplicate sounds on the IV that were created on the III? Thanks in advance!
  4. I want to plug my POD 2.0 device into the L/R line inputs of the UX1 and hear it/record it on my computer through USB directly in my recording software. It seems the only way I can get sound from it is with the POD Farm software running. Isn't there a way to use it without POD Farm? I thought this was just a USB audio interface. Please confirm so I don't waste anymore time on it, thank you.
