  1. Hey, you helped me a ton with my Native question and seemed like you know a lot.

My drummer is asking if there is anyway to just get the loop output into our headphone amp so he can hear the loops over the other instruments.

That being said, I'd still need the loops to also play through into my power cab.

I've been trying different things but thought I'd ask you.

    thanks in advance.

      Hi,

First up - when seeking assistance from other users it's a great help to know exactly what your set up is. The more information available, the more chance of a viable solution. Also, and this is very important, if you're going to attach a photo please ensure that it's either JPG or PNG format, any other file types tend to be attached as totally empty .php files and of no use to anyone. The one you posted to me is a .heic image from an iPhone, which I was able to download and open, but the file you posted in the main forum doesn't exist. A better option, when it involves a preset signal flow, is to upload a .hlx preset file that can be loaded into HX Edit and checked out.

O.K. Looking at what you have in the photo shows a path for a Mic and one for guitar. The mic path has EQ, Pitch, Verb, Delay and a Dyna block active and sends out on XLR.  The guitar has Dyn, Wah, 3x Delay -> Dyn, Dist, Amp, Delay, Verb, Mod (split) Gain then continues to a digital output? The split goes to a B path containing the onboard Looper that is output via 1/4" Jack sockets.

If you are wanting to give your drummer a feed to the headphone amp, you could add a Send Block after the Looper with a 1/4" cable from the Send socket to the external H/Phone amp. The thing is, he will still be hearing everything else that is being processed on that path before the looper.

      Hope thus helps/makes sense.

  3. Back in the day I used to run a 2nd cable into a 2nd input jack on my guitar which was connected to a 25k pot so I could control my delay time on the DL4. Does anyone know if this is possible on the Helix Floor? With the current 25k pot the values on the Helix go from 0 > 100 > 0 not 0 > 100 or 100 > 0 Any thoughts?
  4. @datacommandoya, I've watched a few videos on this and re-amping. May be the best route to go. I appreciate you both providing some input.
  5. @silverheadthanks for the advice. The main reason is I have to turn on/off effects at specific times which I could just turn the Helix Floor into a controller and run Helix Native to do this but havent explored that option yet.
  6. This is actually my exact setup except so that's helpful. Apologies as I think my question wasn't clear. I'm not getting audio distortion from any source, I'm asking if it makes any sense to use my Helix Floor for my effects, except my distortion tone and use Helix Native for my amp/distortion tones, IRs, and/or cabs. My thought behind this is I'd basically be using Helix Native almost as a separate amp, in theory almost like "reamping" where I'd be able to change my distortion tone after I've recorded but it still keeps my delays/reverbs, etc... This may be a stupid idea but wanted to see what people's thoughts are.
  7. Apologies all, when I said distortion I meant using an actual amp or preamp in a block for my distortion, not that I am getting distortion from the helix or Helix Native. |
  8. Hopefully I'm not repeating another post but I have the Helix Floor and Helix Native using Logic Pro X. Wanting to record my guitar but not loving the distortion ton I'm getting. Trying to determine if it would be better to run my Amps, Cabs, IRs with Native and just record "dry or effects within gain" with the Helix Floor. Almost like re-amping but using the floor for effects.
  9. I discovered this idea from a Seattle band called These Arms Are Snakes. The guitarist, Ryan, used an Akai Headrush V1, would play a note, tap on/off the record real quick just to repeat that note very quickly. Attached is a link to a song. You can hear the effect at these times - :31, :51, 1:51, 2:12, and a many more times in this song. https://thesearmsaresnakes.bandcamp.com/track/the-lollipop-sisters I've used a DD-3 on the HOLD function which has been working for 5+ years but the function is only momentary and one additional thing I will do in some songs is change the delay time which is a pain when holding down the pedal and turning the knob. I've recently acquired a Red Panda Tensor specifically for this and it too is one absolutely amazing pedal. This company actually makes a pedal specifically modeled after Ryan's "stutter" effect which I have and works perfectly but trying to get this option on a Helix. https://www.breakfastaudio.com/product/mono-low-fi-stutter I have seen 1 or 2 other topics semi-similar to this but this is not a killswitch, this is fast or slow, repeating note that can be speed up or slowed down. A volume block wont do this. A Tremolo wont do this. I already have a killswitch on every guitar for similar but different purposes. I already know how to get this done with a few other pedals as I've been doing it for years but seem to be having issues with getting this working on the Helix. Thanks everyone!
