  1. A different PC and usb ports didn't help. Cheers for you help folks, the amp has been returned to the shop. If it is so sensative I feel Line 6 should release more in depth notes on the installation and setip. Including which midi to USB and firmware has proven to work.
  2. Thanks. Next problem is now I get a 8000000A "An undefined error occured", Monkey says the DT25 says the firmware is now unknown from the original V1.0 and the amp DNF. Tried restarting the amp, my computer and both, downloading and loading the firmware from my computer. When I restart monkey and select the DT25 and midi connection is reads "if you are sure that your MIDI Out is connected to the MIDI in for the correct device you may proceed without verification using your selected midi ports." It definately is connected the specified way round,. It looks like this is a reasonably common problem. Any other ideas/suggestions?

Original post: "I've got a DT-25 and am about to update it to V2.0. I have a Alesis USB to Midi cable- basicall a USB on one end and the MIDI output/input on the other. As I am not using stand along MIDI cables into a separate MIDI interface do the jacks still need to go output->input and vice versa? Thanks in advance for you help."
