I'm trying to use the HD500X with Propellerhead's Reason. Reason only allows selection of one audio device (for both input and output), and I want to record a clean signal from the POD. Am I correct in assuming that to get a clean guitar signal from the POD with no effects, I have to create a preset for that? When I disable the amp model in the effects chain, it goes silent, so I'm not sure of the best way to do this.
Also, I am using Reason because in addition to POD Farm enabling the use of all Line 6 amps within Reason, it has it's own effects I want to use. I want to hear these effects live while I'm playing without the Monitor coming through my headphones attached to the POD. Since I can't use both my sound card and the POD at the same time in Reason (stupid) I need to be able to disable monitoring through the headphones so I ONLY hear the USB out from the POD. Is there any way to do this?
I know that what I'm basically asking for is identical to if I just got a simple USB interface and used that instead of the POD, but the POD's USB input is higher quality than my current USB interface. Also, I want to quickly switch from recording in Reason to just messing around without the computer being involved without having to move the guitar and headphones connections every time I switch.
