  1. It looks like something is off then. If I download based on this link, at the location you described: http://line6.com/getrelease?rid=6457 It downloads "Line 6 Monkey 1.71.dmg" -- which, when expanded shows Line 6 Monkey.pkg, and when that file is executed, the second screen, "Read Me" says it installs Line 6 Monkey 1.70. And then it installs 1.70, which, when run, says it needs to be upgraded to 1.71.
  2. So, just to confirm--as in the three years I've had the JTV I've never used the battery and everything has functioned properly--are you saying that there has been a change and that powering my JTV using the Line 6 XPS-AB box via the 1/4-inch jack is no longer sufficient for using it with the USB interface, even if it is sufficient for powering the JTV otherwise? Also, could you provide a link to Monkey 1.71, as all the links I've found both in English and other language versions of the site download a .dmg claiming to be 1.71, but when I open the installer, it says it's 1.70, and then it installs 1.70. Perhaps there's another link I'm missing.
  3. Thanks, CipherHost-- I do have the guitar cable plugged into the 1/4 inch jack--that's also how I power the guitar, using the Line 6 XPS-AB box, which sends power through the Planet Waves instrument cable. This is the same setup I've used in the past, specifically on other versions of OSX, where I was able to use the Monkey and Workbench software successfully.
  4. I'm on OSX El Capitan, and I just installed the latest Line 6 drivers. 1. My JTV is powered on, volume all the way up, and I'm connected to the USB interface. USB interface has red blinking light on the guitar side. 2. I've downloaded Line 6 Monkey both from the website, as well as from Line 6 Monkey itself--but I can't seem to get my hands on version 1.71, which says it has support for El Capitan. The filename of what I download says it's 1.71, but when I click install, it's 1.70, and when I run it post-install, it says it's 1.70 and needs an update. 3. So Workbench HD doesn't recognize that I have a guitar plugged in at all. Thoughts?
