Okay slight problem, about to do the split and all but when i have the USB connected to the PC, nothing comes out of the cab with my guitar in (meaning if i play something, i just hear feed back). that's the new problem here. once i unplug it, it plays through just fine. If i cant have the USB connected to the pc im not even sure how to transfer the digital signal over from the mic.

@ silverhead, yes that is correct, i want the mic to capture the cab sound and have that routed to the DAW. The issue is when i have the USB in, the cab sound does not come through anymore. @ arislaf, I've tried that, ill take a look again

Hi everyone, I noticed there is a mic in connector on the front panel of the pod HD Pro X. It never occurred to me what im trying to do might not be possible. Seeing others record their pod's through a real mic peeked my intrest so i went out and got a sm57 since the built in mics does not capture that how i thought it would (its good just want the real sound). QUESTION: Is it possible to have a real SM57 record the output of the pod through a cab? Everytime i connect the USB cable to the computer, the sound through the cab goes quite. it would go like this Guitar in-> Mic In -> processed signal out cab -> mic capture into Daw Is this even possible for what im trying to do? Id like to start off to saying thank you too.. GTLazer, silverhead, and TheRealZap for recommending me in send back my faulty device for a working one. To start off, i love the pod's ease of access, easy recording via USB, and some tones. I recently hooked up my pod to my half stack "http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifiers-effects/randall-rx120rh-and-rx412-half-stack" through the amp head as a power amp to give its boost that it needs. I'm pleased with the sound over all compared to the built in overdrive on the Rx120RH which sound fuzzy, and same with my peddle. My question is, is there any way to make the pod sound better? I read online about people running there pod through a tube amp or a tube power amp. If this is the case, could anyone recommend any device to me? Thank you~

I had to send mine back in order to fix this. I made a similar thread and there was nothing i could. I tried multiple computers and each troubleshooting tip, nothing. It does make sense, the first few hundred pods can be buggy for a new unit; should have waited.

I'll give the vendor a call today. Thanks for the help. I was just hoping I could get the firmware back on in hoping it would fix the issue.

First time poster so hello! The pod Hd has caught my eye for a while now, then the X was released so i went for it. It came in the mail today and issues started. What happened was.. USB B cable would not securely stay in the interface (swapped it out with another one) did not want to install drivers correctly (its fixed now) While playing with it a little more once i got to the Pod HD Edit, it kept failing the preset transfer and then the Pro x started turning off and on where it would display the "LINE6" logo constantly. I read to press power and hold the left arrow, which fixed it sort of. Then i read another that actually fixed the device by resting the firmware. I went to reset the firmware, half way through i got an error 8000721. I did a complete reinstall of the interface and ran smoothely and still no luck, my POD pro acts as a paper weight now that says (update flash). for the little bit i played with it i loved it. Anyone help me out please? Thanks
