  1. I have two Variax Acoustic 700's . Both have had problems but I still love em! 1)Doing a HARD factory reset helped with one of my guitars when the selector knob seemed to not work properly. You have to have a way to connecting it to the computer. 2) On my other variax the whole slider assembly needed to be replaced. I was taking a gulp of drink between songs and I noticed a few drops of condensation had gone into there. (Who knows how many times that had happened before noticing--and i am left handed so its directly below my drink each time. ***You can buy the whole assembly from full compass*** And it was relatively inexpensive. Most parts ARE still available for these guitars...
  2. Hey Charlie thanks for the reply. I was looking up graphtech... Do you have a link of which one would go into the 700 acoustic? I canont seem to find it...
  3. Last nights gig the volume dropped 50% or so and sounded a bit distorted. I shook the guitar real hard and it began to work again no problem. After the gig I changed out the Cable and shook it real hard I was able to lose the sound again and then more shaking "fixed" it. Also when double clicking the selector knob I hear a slight steady intermittant sound that coincides with the flashing of the light by the tone knob. The sound goes away when playing. I think there must be some sort of short? Is there anything I can check on my own before bringing it in (again) to get fixed. Any tips would be a super big help. * I am using the xps power supply and I never have this problem with my other variax acoustic using the same power source *
  4. I guess that says something about line 6 customer service! I just recived this too: "Your Line 6 Support Ticket was updated and marked as Assumed Answered by a Line 6 Support Representative. While it is in this status, if you do not reply to the ticket, it will be closed in 5 days." Wow. Maybe their email system is screwed up. Silverhead why are you defending Line 6 when they are in the wrong here? An yes you are indirectly defending them by the tone of your replies
  5. Did you miss the part about me contact customer service multiple times? And no i don't feel any better or worse after posting thanks for your replies.
  6. I don't mean from community members, but from customer service. I bought another Variax700 acoustic used. The sounds are "off" and it needs a hard re-set. I'm new to plugging in my guitar into a computer but I figured it out and I am going to borrow a pod xt live. The point is the lack of response.
  7. ***Edit**** Line 6 customer service contacted me. The original ticket went to a junk folder. Not sure why the following ones did not. No error on their part. Dis-regard post
  8. Does Line 6 reply to their emails? Its been way way past the "3 day waiting period"
  9. Ok good to know. Still wish I could get a re-set on the other Variax I emailed line 6-- created a ticket-- that was a week ago with no reply. Hmm
  10. I have two Variax 700 Acoustics for gigging. I would like to use rechargeable batteries but most are 1.2 volts. Anyone recommend a AA that is 1.5 volts or better? Also: I recently picked up a second Variax and the previous owner may have used workbench. I want to get the guitar back to factory settings and tried the "Soft" Reset but that did nothing. I dont really have the need to purchase Workbench is it possible to go to a dealer and get it re-set? Or?? I am in North Florida Thanks, Vinny
