  1. Thanks for the help. It sounds like this is normal behavior and not a problem with the pod. From watching that youtube video and searching for guitar hum, I will check the grounding inside of the guitar. If that looks good, I will look into upgrading the shielding. I am new to electric guitars, so thanks for answering the newbie questions.
  2. I have tried two cables, and both had the same symptoms. For the headphones, I use them for music and an electronic drum set, no buzzing there. I don't know how to verify the guitar, as I don't have an amp, just the pod. I am trying to find a second guitar I can borrow and test out with the pod. Thanks for the ideas, I am new to electric guitars and the pod Thanks
  3. I have a new pod hd desktop I am using with an epiphone guitar with passive pickups ( I think that is the term, there is no battery in the guitar ). Connecting the guitar to the pod, and then headphones in the 1/4 headphone jack, I hear a buzzing or humming sound thru the headphones. The pod is not connected to anything else, and is not connected to a computer. When the guitar cable is plugged, it, I can touch the exposed metal part of the jack on the guitar or pod side and the humming gets much better. I can also touch the metal part of the pod case and make the humming better. I am new to this, but from searching others have mentioned ground loops. Since nothing else is connected to the pod, I did not think this was a ground loop. If I change the input impedance of the pod to the lowest value, the humming gets better but still noticeable. If I add a noise gate to the front of any of the presets, there is no humming until I play the guitar and then I can hear it. Could this be a ground loop or a problem with the pod? I was thinking about manually running a wire from the exposed guitar cable to the ground of an outlet, but that seems excessive. Does anyone else hear this sound and if so, how did you solve this. I have the latest firmware on the pod hd desktop as well. Thanks
