  1. Just a few more quesitons so I can understand this better. With the 4CM the setup looks like this: Guitar -- GUITAR IN (500X) FX SEND -- Front of AMP FX LOOP SEND (AMP) -- FX RETURN L/MONO (500X) UNBALANCED OUTPUT L/MONO (500X) -- FX LOOP RETURN (AMP) Does turninng on the FX Loop on the 500X send the signal in the path above? Does turning off the FX Loop on the 500x send the signal this way: Guitar -- GUITAR IN (500X) UNBALANCED OUTPUT L/MONO (500X) -- FX LOOP RETURN (AMP)
  2. Just tried this and it worked perfectly. Now as far as where to put the fx in the chain, do I put the HD amp at the end with the fx in front of it leaving all other pedals in front of the FX block?
  3. If I understand correctly when the FX loop is on then the pod will not use the Amps preamp? This is exactly what I am looking for.
  4. Kinda of new here and what I want to do I'm not sure is possible, or if it is even feasible. I have a Marshall DSL40C and a HDPOD500X. I like the distortation channel on the Marshall but I would like to bypass it with the FX loop on the POD. If I setup the POD with the 4 cable method would I be able to switch the FX loop on and bypass the front of the marshall. Example: I have the distortation channel active on the marshall, I then activate the footswitch for the FX loop, this in turn by passes the distortation channel and the eq on the marshall and uses the amp and eq I have setup in the chain after the fx loop. Of course I would also have a footswitch for to turn on and off the amp model after the fx loop. A simpler way to look at it is I want the Marshall setup to use the distortation channel with how I have the EQ setup, then bypass the front of the amp, which would bypass the channel and the EQ and use the EQ and amp from the POD. The marshall has has a limitation on only having one EQ for both channels. I aslo would guess that if it could do this then the setting for the POD would also need to be changed on the fly for the FX loop which can't be done.
