  1. Like any other software or firmware update to ANY device, never install when it first comes out, wait a few weeks, let the additional bugs get figured out.
  2. I appreciate the insight, thank you. I bought the HX Stomp XL primarily for two things, using the 4 Cable method to run the Verbs, Delays, Mods in the loop, and to use those along with the Amp and Cab sim's for recording direct to my recording interface, and works great for that, just haven't had time to go through the other setup to run it via the amps power amp and out to my guitar cab, without the cab sim engaged of course.
  3. Thanks, I appreciate it. I'll see what it yields!
  4. Sorry if this has been asked a million times, but I'm looking to use my HX Stomp XL direct to an SS amp head's power amp via the loop (Katana perhaps?) bypassing the amp pre-amp and coloration, then into a Celestion V-type loaded 2x12 cabinet. I would of course disable the cabinet sim in the HX to utilize that setup but want to use the amp sim's in the HX which sound fantastic. How does that kinda setup stack up versus using the HX into a dedicate power amp like one of the Seymour Duncan PowerStage units and a using FRFR speaker? I've read a lot of mixed opinions on the "guitar amp power amp only - to- guitar speaker" when using pedals like the HX, and some of the threads don't seem to point out if when using that setup if they've even disabled the cab sim in the HX, which to me would be the only way to make it sound correct. Looking forward to insights and experiences, and thanks in advance for replies. SKI
  5. Yep, I got that, thanks! Still, no other mention of how to do it from scratch in the whole manual, editing a preset is not the same, and a bit clunky. Anywho, is what it is. Line 6 obviously realized the shortcoming and made a short video shortly after it came to market.
  6. Just watching some videos, there's nowhere in the manual they explain this like you have, but there is a Line 6 video that does, I guess video is the way to go to make up for shortcomings of the manual. I appreciate the input!
  7. Yep, got that far and more, then the manual falls off the proverbial cliff LOL! "Look for the included factory presets titled with “4CM” to use as your starting template, or you can build your own by adding an FX Loop block (see “Choosing an Effect”). If I click the link to go to the "Choosing an Effect" page, it doesn't really going into much about assigning an effect to any specific routing and I've skimmed the whole manual a few times and nothing jumps out to explain "how to". Going to look at some videos, gotta be better than this manual, thanks man!
  8. Hi Forum, This is a newbie HX effects question, and know this question must have been asked 100000000 times so I apologize in advance, and I've read a few of the forums here but still don't get it/or/didn't address my simple situation. My setup is simple. I'm using the HX Effects with a Marshall style amp using the 4 cable method. I want to place the HX Effects verb, delay, chorus, (the typical things you want in the amps loop), but route the HX Effects gain, boost effects to the front end of the amp. I've used the Nux Cerberus previously and it was laid out with dedicates in's and outs specifically for this and loved it, simple! I upgraded to the HX Effects to have more effect options. Do I have to create routing to do this? Again, thank you in advance, Peace!
