I own a studio UX2 for almost 2 years
since a couple of months i noticed that the sound coming out from my studio monitors plugged to the UX2 is lollipop. it's weak especially on the right speaker(satellite) ,where you can't hear any bass at all, and it kinda distorted; i have to set the output volume from Pod Farm really low, and at the end i can't hear anything.
i thought the issue was related to the monitors at i was about to send them back for repairing, when i've tried to plug them directly to my laptop headphones port....and suddenly everything was ok. The sound was amazing!
i've also open a ticket at line6 support, but the answer was quite automatic, i mean there were written the same things (check this check that, re-install the driver ..bla bla bla...).
so i've google a bit what could have been the issue, at i've read that other people had the same issue, and probably due to ground issue. Looks like that setting the cables in a certain way, removing the power supply of laptop and use only the battery, and other bulllollipop that you don't want to read....at the end you may solve the issue. not always.(this advice were given from Line6 support)
now i've tried everthing...at the end i was in my room with my laptop (using the battery power supply) plugged to the UX2 and my monitors in the end. Well the sound was.....lollipop. again.
So, My line6 friends, the truth is that UX2 is a weak device. How can it be possible that it's so easily affected by ground issue for instance. how is it built?
if you google there are plenty of people who had this issue.
it's clear that from your side the device it's perfect and therefore the cause has to be found somewhere else.
But its not. Be honest.
you avoid people like me to stay up all night looking for a reason, when the reason it's clear. UX2 it's an affordable DAW therefore it doesn't work as claimed.
now i can throw out of the window this device.
regards.
