Can’t really figure this out folks. I want to put a Box of Rock in the effects loop but there’s a nasty noise when the pedal is engaged. Other overdrive pedals are quiet. Same gain amount too. So it seems specific to the BoR.
Not using a power supply either; using a battery doesn’t help. So I’ve eliminated the Ojai power supply as the problem. I am using the official L6 power supply too.
Now heres res where it gets funnier. If I run the BoR before the HX then all is well. No nasty noise. So it seems isolated to the effects loop. Either loop is noisy too.
I’ve used different cables. No difference.
And it seems like some sort of inherent noise floor issue because even with the gain of the BoR down there’s still way too much noise and hiss.
