  1. Ive had nothing but trouble with the switches in my hd500x. I should say now that im a 42 yr old that treats all my gear with cotton gloves (so im not a 16yr old that goes jumping all over my pedals) Firstly, 2 switches broke after about 8 months use and it started jumping between patches. I returned it to thomann and after 3 weeks they returned it. Went to the studio and it still had the same problem. Contavted line 6 that put me in touch with one of their service centers. I took it to them and they replaced all 12 switches...... now after only 3 months a switch has died on me again!! I spoke to the service center and was told that what keeps breaking is these little generic cheap micro switches and im not the 1st person to have this problem. I could get it done under warranty but was wondering, has anyone upgraded theae switches to more expensive, durable switches. I know i'll void the warranty etc but id rather have the piece of mind that a switch wont break at a show. I love the unit apart from the switches. I used to play through eventide and strymon boxes for 3 yrs without any problem and not a single switch problem. Surely line 6 beed to up their moving parts
  2. Thought id give a quick update... Very impressed with the hd500x.. its a keeper. Sounded really good through my ac30 (no amp or cab settings). So good that i will be using it full time and will only be adding a strymon el capistan delay and weeping demon wah to it. Very impressed with the delays and the verbs. Found that the tube overdrive algorhythm works best with my amp and a touch of the facial fuzz for when i want that extra brutal fatness... very simple to use once i worked out what settings and levels were needed..... sorted Kind regards One happy hd500 owner Luke
  3. Thanks for the replies... will bear it all in mind.
  4. Hi. New hd500x owner after having used stompboxes (eventide) for the past couple of years. I play through a newish vox ac30 and am using the fx loop and 4cm. Ive read that i should use the settings on the fx loop as send at -7 and return at +8. Does this sound right to you? Should i use line or amp at the switch by the treadle? Line or stomp on the back? Any other tips you can give me will be much appreciated. I only ask as i cant turn the volume up at home and have rehearsals on tusday and dont want to spend the 1st hour messing around with settings. Many thanks. Any advice will be much appreciated
