I just picked up a Helix rack and controller. As a previous user of mainly a tube amp all I can say is I am blown away. The ease of use is amazing and have already created several presets of my own. I was running the output of my Helix into a Samson Servo 170 power amp then into a 1x12 cab with a Celestion V30. Well the Samson amp which I have had for 15 years decided it was time to go. So for the time being I hooked up one of my JBL 305p monitors which does sound ok as long as I put an amp cab sim on the end of the signal chain. But its a small monitor so I know its not ideal.
So my options are either get a new power amp to hook to my cab, or go with a larger studio monitor. I really like the JBL's so thinking about the 308p MkII. I just play at home and do some recording so no need for a live setup right now. Just wondering what peoples opinion on what would be the best option.
