Hello--
About a year ago I bought a spider 3 15w amp from a friend for $75. He handed me the amp and I left. When I first plugged it in and played it, everything sounded good, despite the effects on the clean channel that I still can't figure out how to get off...Anyway, primarily being a bass player, I just recently picked up guitar again, and I noticed my distortion, mainly on the insane channel doesn't really distort, it just goes really bassy. Same with the other channels. Clean, crunch, metal, and insane...nothing sounds the way it should, especially after watching countless demos on line. I'm confused. Is this a technical issue, or do I just need an amp better suited to my needs?
