Aloha Brassy, Mahalo for the response. I have since experimented with a few external devices and found the Boss "ME-70" helps bring the volume up to normal (normal to me) levels. I'll try your suggestion too. On another note, I discovered that my old "Dyna Comp" really helps fatten up the solid state tone. It still works after about 40 years. I took the 9 volt battery out and had it storage all these years. Again, mahalo for your response. Mal

Is the clean setting on the "Spider Jam" supposed to have very little volume or did I get a lemon? Am I not understanding something? Anyone's help will be much appreciated. Mahalo.

I just got my "Spider Jam" today and already have some issues. I haven't experienced the drop or increase but I have never owned an amp that needed the channel volume "dimed" to get any sound. Even then it's only as loud as normal conversational volume. Mainly the clean setting. How can they not be ashamed to call it "75 watts"? Does anyone else have this problem or should I return it as a lemon? Got it from Musicians Fiend". Thanks for any help or opinions.
